FML

The 'FML' trend is BY FAR THE STUPIDEST AND MOST NON-SENSIBLE TREND YET. It's also amongst the most widely used internet acronyms too. But what is the cause of this Emo effect. I think i know exactly what it is..

You see, the media plays such a large role in shaping how we view the world, especially amongst the youth. And it is a FACT that the media influence is far greater than any other influence in society today. They tell us how to dress, how to talk, what to wear, and in this case, how to feel. Call me crazy but i think this is something that is being done purposely. Follow me as i take you on a tour through all the darkness that is being fed to us.

MUSIC.

Kanye West - 808's & Heartbreak
A whole album's worth of music themed around heartbreak, jealousy, sorrow, and loneliness. The strings in the songs' composition give off dark vibes as West sings a somber tune and allows the listener to become submerged into his world of Heartbreak.

Rihanna - Rated R
It's so OBVIOUS that Rihanna has crossed over and has taken on a more dark approach, in her music as well as her physical image. The names of some of the songs on her album are Mad House, Russian Roulette, Stupid in Love, Cold Case Love, and Fire Bomb. Hmm...not convinced yet?

Lady Gaga - The Fame Monster
Her whole persona speaks for itself. Did you NOT see her performance at the VMA's this year? Songs on her latest album include titles such as Bad Romance, So Happy I Could Die, Dance in the Dark, and Monster.

Drake - So Far Gone
Undoubtedly the biggest up-and-coming rap artist to emerge, Drake, has even taken part in this 'dark cloud' so to speak. His widely respected mixtape So Far Gone took the same approach as 808's and Heartbreak as far as the music having gloomy composition and themes of loneliness, infidelity, and disloyalty.

Just look at Beyonce's transition in image, Jay-Z's ALL BLACK EVERYTHING approach, 50 Cent's latest album title and theme Before I Self Destruct, Snoop Dogg's Malice in Wonderland (Malice, def - desire to inflict injury), Kid Cudi's Man on the Moon also has an overall muggy theme. There are many more musicians that are pushing this hidden agenda, but these are amongst the most influential

Television and Movies

True Blood
Vampires? 'Nuff said.

Twilight
Vampires AND Werewolves.

Ninja Assassins
This was a GREAT movie by the way. But it is amongst the FIRST to show mutilation and death of children. Child death has always been a theme that Hollywood has shied away from. Now all of a sudden, its shown. Hmm..

I could go on forever about this man...call me crazy, but dont think for one second that all of this stuff is pure coincidence. I know it sounds like a buncha senseless bullshit....i know. BUT, look at conditions right now in 2010. You can't tell me that conditions are far worse than they were about 5 years ago. And they're on a steady decline. Just look at how things were 30 years ago. Music and television revolved around themes of togetherness and LOVE. Nowadays, they revolve around sex and greed. You ever wondered why people don't get married like they used to? Twitter is a good tool to study behavior, i don't know if you've ever thought of it that way. I notice that alot of people say alotta unhappy stuff and it's a steady reoccurrence. When Marvin Gaye sung about Love, the thing to do was be in Love. When Michael Jackson came out with the Thriller album, he made it cool to dance. When Kanye West first emerged, he made people become more conscious of their image and made people wanna get 'fresh'. When rapper The Game first emerged, he had SO MANY young black males wanting to be bloods. (Don't act like you don't remember that). The media's effect on the shaping of society is nothing new. It's been this way since the creation of the celebrity (a fairly new concept btw, but i'll save that for another post). So if ONE person can influence a MASS population of people to behave a certain way, imagine what a bunch of those people can do if they're all pushing the same agenda. A rather dark agenda...you may wanna rethink the next time you decide to type in the phrase 'FML'. Don't be that stupid..

Editor's Note: IM NOT SAYING THAT I DON'T ENJOY THESE MUSICIANS OR MOVIES/TELEVISION SHOWS. MOST OF THE ARTISTS AND MOVIES THAT I NAMED I REALLY LOVE AND ENJOY. ALL IM SAYING IS THAT YOU SHOULDN'T LET THEM FORM YOUR IDENTITY. BE YOUR OWN PERSON. THERE ARE AROUND 6 BILLION PEOPLE ON THIS EARTH, EACH WITH A SOUL THAT IS VERY VERY VERY DIFFERENT. WEAR YOUR SOUL ON YOUR SLEEVE AS IF ITS THE LATEST FASHION! THE WORLD WILL LOVE YOU FOR IT!

I'm often told 'There's something different about you...something i'm not sure if i can explain..' Well, it's not that i'm 'different', it's just that i know who i am and i've never felt that i had to fit into a certain mold to get my point across. People would refer to YOU as different too, if you really find out who YOU are and let it show. 6 billion lives, 6 billion stories, everyone is different.
