Strange ass dream...

From my dream last nite...

I pulled up in the front of my house on a typical day, unlocked the door and noticed 2 asian kamikaze lookin guys who'm i had never seen before coming down the stairs with my stuff. They were clearly there as robbers, but they seemed not to care that i had entered the house. They looked at me and continued to load more of my shit into their F-150 pickup truck. Surprised and kinda startled, i quickly backed out of the house, but as i did, i noticed that the neighborhood had changed. I was in a totally different place then where the dream had begun. It was no longer the neighborhood that i currently live in, it was the neighborhood that i lived in 9 years ago in Carson.

Still scared, i ran up the street as fast as i could, which wasnt fast at all. I looked down at my feet to notice that i had a pair of Timberland boots on, they were the cause of me running slow. While running, i tried to dial 911, but my Blackberry Storm had frozen as it usually does (Blackberry's are notorious for freezing). The operator that picked up the 911 call was talkin gibberish, some language i couldn't understand, then all of a sudden the fone was gone. In an instant.

After runnin up the street from what seemed like an hour, i finally reached the end of the street. I somehow had a gun now. When i looked back, there was an army of about ten thousand Japanese soldiers, with their leader at the forefront. I fired a shot off which instantly killed him. The soldiers began to charge at me full speed as i turned around to run for cover at the nearest house. The house was one of a girl that i had a crush on in my old neighborhood. I banged on the door about 10 times before her uncle answered the door. When he did, he was sayin somethin to me but i didnt care to listen. I looked over his shoulder to see HER standin there with a surprised look...we hadn't seen each other in 9 years. There was no time for reminiscing as that brigade of Japanese soldiers were sure to catch up to me in a matter of seconds. I barged my way past her uncle and into the house to hide for cover in their shower. Moments later, i could hear a crowd of people storm in the house, with loud sounds of a soldier's boots stomping on their wooden floor. I was for certain i was about to die so i said my last prayers. As the Japanese soldiers made their way to where i was in the bathroom, the room had totally shifted and began to spin. All of a sudden i looked to the left and to the right of me and noticed people sitting on both sides. The room had stopped rotating and a door had opened. The whole time i was in a simulated Universal Studios type of ride. Still confused, i got out my seat and headed towards the exit. Before i got to the exit door, one of the theme park workers tapped me on my shoulder. I turned around and noticed it was the same asian guy that had broken into my house, only now he wasn't as kamikaze-looking and he had a regular yellow Universal Studios staff shirt on. He said "You forgot your gun, pick it up from security before you leave the park." Then i woke up. It was 12:01 pm when i woke up from that dream...the latest i had waken up in a while.

I think i know exactly why i had that dream. Last Saturday i went to Universal Studios, and last nite, i was talkin to a guy about how i was from Carson, hence the setting of the dream. Also, last nite, i was tellin one of my friends about how my brother, who's a cop, got into an off-duty shooting, which is where the gun came from in my dream. Last week sometime, i asked my bro Xavier "How would you react if you were to come home one day and a thief was in your house? Would you try to take him down or would you run?" Thats where the robbers in my dream came from. So i think i figured dreams out. They are a collective of subconscious thoughts all strung together to form a sequence that we call a dream. Which is why dreams often times, dont make sense. This is crazy...

Relationships...Where Beggars CAN Be Choosers!

I'm always catchin flack from my friends because they say i'm too picky when it comes to women...but whoever said bein picky was a bad thing? I recommend the picky method to everybody. In fact, if people were more selective in who they chose to be with, the divorce rate would be significantly lower. Anyways...relationships. They're everybody's favorite topic of discussion so i figure i'd take a crack at it...

I'm 20 almost 21 years old, so my perspective on how to choose a woman is a bit different. (And for the women reading this post, dont worry, this is not a post on men choosing women) Back when i was about 17, 18, 19, i would honestly choose the girls i would talk to mainly on how well they could hold a conversation, their sense of humor, and physical appearance. But now that i'm older, i plan and prioritize things in my life according to how i want my future to turn out. At my age, the next woman i seriously date, after a few years, will most likely be the woman that i marry. So here are a few, but not all, things to consider for us young adults when choosing that special someone who you could potentially live out your years with:

1. Brains
Like i said before, sense of humor, conversation skills, and physical appearance are great, but when it comes to taking that huge step from dating to a serious relationship, you have to be a bit more wise in your choosing. Serious relationships lead to marriage, and marriage leads to children. (Don't ever think its too early to plan for the future.) Studies actually show that brains are hereditary, so make sure that the person you choose to be with is intelligent. That goes a loooong way. If you're here reading this post, then i assume that you are quite knowledgable yourself, so two intelligent parents will undoubtedly birth intelligent children and will lead to a strong intelligent family, in an ideal sense.

2. Family Life
I can't stress this enough! People that come from extremely broken homes usually carry alotta baggage. Not good. Good people, more often than not, come from a decent home. Ladies, look at how a guy treats his mother. If he has ultimate love and respect for her, then more than likely he shall do the same for you. My advice for the guys, bring her around your family. Its a test, one that takes observation. Maybe do this on a day when there's a weekend get together at your house. See how she interacts with your family, your mother most importantly. Perhaps leave the two of them alone to talk and form THEIR relationship, as that relationship is the second most important to the one that you share with her. This is also an opportunity to test her comfort with YOU. The family test is a good way to gauge where the two of you are in the relationship, and can perhaps take you to that next level. Oh, and the family tests works for both guys and girls.

3. Look For What You Lack!
This is another very very important one! We may not wanna admit it, but as humans, we have flaws in our characters. BUT, something CAN be done about it, which is the great thing about relationships. In a good healthy relationship, you grow together. Meaning you will adopt some of their ways, as they will pick up some of yours. That is why it is important for you to choose someone that can offer something that you can't. It will make the both of you stronger people, and will indeed create a strong couple. If you're kinda lazy, and some of yall are, get somebody that isn't so couch-potato-ish. If you dont have a dominant personality, DONT try to find someone with that same characteristic! Two uncertain people can and will lead to disaster! If you have a dominant personality, you may have to find somebody who is maybe a LITTLE less dominant as you are, but not weak. Two dominant personalities often clash, and that can ALSO lead to disaster, ive seen it happen before my own eyes.

The above are just a few things one should consider upon entering a serious relationship. It's not everything, but its the essentials. The purpose of this post was to get you to learn more about your partner before jumping into a relationship head first. Know thy partner, LOVE thy partner. Oh.....and NEVER TRUST A BIG BUTT AND A SMILE! lol

The day i find a woman who's smarter than me and can teach me somethin is the day i fall in love...'til then, im searching..

"For the most part, i am alone../
Nobody around, just me and my songs../
thats cool, just gimme some decent headfones/
You gimme a couple hours, i'll give you a couple songs/
Or a LP a couple hours long, i can make a double disk when my head is in the zone/
Im zonin, i met a light-skinned chick, now we bonin/
She out by the moe'nin/
I wish she could stay, but she gotta go/
And its alotta things in life that i gotta know/
You ever wondered who you was gon be wit?
You wish you could see it, then you wonder 'What she hidin fo?'/
But i be thinkin its the music imma settle wit/
And honestly i dont think i can find a better chick/
I heard somebody say that music is the devil's gift/
And if it is then everybody is irrelevant
Pressure like a Elephant.../
Heavy, i think im feelin outta my element
I just wanna fly and get away like a pelican...
....if it'll get me out this hell im in.."

Oh, and ive uploaded this song before, but i feel the need to post it again, simply because it fits the mood of this post...so here it is...

Hip-Hop After Hours..(Tony Starks Edition)

The wordplay in this song is RETARDED!

CLASSIC: Super Mario Soda

WOW...you must be some kinda Triple OG if you remember these! Everytime i mention these to somebody they act like im a crazy person...welp, here's hardcore proof that Super Mario Soda DID indeed exist. You already know the Luigi Berry flavor was the best one...

The Good Girl, Bad Guy Fallacy

LIES I TELL YA! ITS ALL LIES!!! LOL! So we've all heard it before...good girls love bad guys. But do they really? If you're a regular reader, then you know that my mind works a little differently from the average person. If you say grass is green, i'll tell you it's blue, and by the end of that discussion you'll think to yourself "damn...maybe that grass IS blue.." THATS HOW GOOD I AM! And yes, i love to toot my own horn...

Anyway, so about this good girl/bad guy deal...i don't think its true..nope..not one bit. And here's why...

The "good girls love bad guys" saying usually applies to the typical girl who maybe has a decent earning job, maybe she's done or is doing well in school, physically attractive and has her head on straight. The "bad guy" is one who usually isn't doing as well as she is in life, misteats her, and maybe messes with other females on the side. Right? Right. But wait! Who ever said the girl with the decent earning job with good grades and good looks is a good girl? Sure, she may not have that edgy i-dont-give-a-fuck attitude, but that does NOT make her good. Any girl who'm i would consider "good" is one that would NEVER allow herself to be mistreated or talked to in a shameful and disrespectful manner. A true good girl would never be simple enough to let a guy back into her life after being cheated on.

A good girl is one smart enough to choose a good guy to let love her. A good girl is also smart enough to LOVE one for WHO he is, rather than LIKING him for WHAT he is. It really is simple mathematics. When was the last time you saw a GOOD HAPPY couple comprised of a bad guy and a good girl? I would wait, but i dont have all nite...YOU NEVER SEE THAT! WHY? BECAUSE IT DOESNT EXIST! WHICH IS WHY THE GOOD GIRL/BAD GUY THEORY IS FALSE!!!

"Good" Girl + Bad Guy = Bad Relationship
Bad Girl + Bad Guy = Fucked Up Relationship
Good Girl + Good Guy = Great Relationship

Good girls DONT love bad guys. Let's get rid of that misconception rite now. STUPID girls with GOOD potential like bad guys...

Is that grass lookin blue yet or what? I knew it would ;)

The Terminator

Today's society has been taken over by the machine. Everyday we drift further and further from the natural, due to rapid technological advancement. Obviously, the technological revolution has made life easier and has been the cause of many discoveries that have aided in furthering us as a people...with so many advances in technology in such a short period of time, we never stop to pay attention to how detrimental these advances are. Natural human interaction is becoming a thing of the past..What ever happened to a young man and young woman meeting one another naturally? Perhaps the most natural thing in human NATURE is to mate, but how natural is meeting your mate on the world wide web? And what exactly is the world wide web anyway? We all love it, reap its benefits, and not to mention, are logged onto it 24/7....

The internet is an artificial society, a false reality, a community created by some one person or group of people for control purposes...think about it. Everything we can do in the "natural world", we can now do online, only times a thousand. We can buy clothes, buy music, buy food, entertain ourselves, and even find love...all on the world wide web. In modern times, we praise the celebrity and hail him/her almost as God-like figures...The concept of the celebrity was created by the media to generate money, the most prevalent source of the media is the internet, celebrities are most prevalent on, you guessed it, the internet. The 'net's influence is getting stronger, as it has hooked many people to stay on it from the time they wake, to moments before they go to sleep.

Can you imagine if the internet were to suddenly one day, crash? (a possibility that is very likely). Many people would not know how to cope, as it is how they function from day to day. They have even made it to where the 'net is so accessible it can FIT INTO YOUR POCKET! (iPhone, Blackberry, etc.) For the internet to appeal to its sample study audience (our generation) all it has to do is transform itself from being a TOOL to being COOL...With all the hype that internet is feeding to its baby (us), it may lead to a very very large population of non-productive and misguided people. That body of people won't survive because our nature's law is Survival of the Fittest. Which means we won't be able to survive because the internet has stripped away our essential components given to us by nature that are required for us to do what we are guided by natural forces to do, and that is become one with nature. Or at least closer to it...This world wide web has simply reshaped the values of a whole generation, and on a more grand scale, the world. All in the blink of an eye...maybe those Terminator movies aren't so fictional afterall...

Puff Daddy "Pain"

Notice, i used the title "Puff Daddy" insteada Diddy...this song is from his album No Way Out. There's so much emotion in this song...in his voice and in its composition. You know i wouldnt post Diddy's weak ass on my blog if the song wasnt dope. Listen for yourself...

Common feat. Bilal "Play Your Cards Right"

Deniece Williams "It's Gonna Take A Miracle"

Back then, songs were an actual reflection on true emotion...they made you say to yourself "Damn, that's really how i feel!"...nowadays...i dont even feel like gettin into it lol.

Song of the Day: Al Kooper, Mike Bloomfield & Steve Stills "Harvey's Tune"

Good music, in my opinion, is supposed to take you somewhere, a place in your mind. A place that you can never find. Whenever i would stress, i would put this song on, close my eyes, and let my mind take me on a journey. I would imagine myself being on a train and lookin out the window...the train isn't rolling on a track, but somehow manages to ride smoothly...nothing matters in that world of mine, no worries, no stress, no strife...the sky is peach as the song begins but as the chords progress, it slowly turns violet with the end of the song approaching, causing an extraordinary sunset. Most people left their imaginations along with their childhood....i kept mine.

Dissection of the Word: Alzheimer's

Alzheimer's - def - a progressive and fatal brain disease that destroys the brain cells, causing problems with memory, thinking and behavior, and social life.

Alzheimer's...pronounced all-zime-ers....HOW MANY TIMES HAVE YOU HEARD A DUMB NIGGA PRONOUNCE IT AS 'OLD-TIMERS'??? YEAH, YOU MAY BE OLD WHEN YOU'RE DIAGNOSED WITH IT BUT THAT DONT MEAN ITS CALLED OLD-TIMERS DISEASE!!!

Let's at least TRY to be smart, alrite?

Song of the Day: Frank Sinatra "Fly Me To The Moon"

What? Just cuz im black you think i dont listen to Sinatra??? Open your mind, open your ears, and open your hearts to different types of things, and that goes for more than just music. How will you ever know that you love something if you never give it a try? Life can be a little boring if you do the things expected of you. Don't jump into the mold that society has shaped for you. Step outside of that and indulge in what you truly love. When we learn to live for ourselves and really do the things we LOVE, rather than what we're told we're supposed to love, is when life will become that more fulfilling...Ladies and gentlemen, i present to you, Francis A. Sinatra...

The Untouchable: Religion

Hmmm...how should i start this off? Well..first off, let me start by sayin this...its hard for me to keep my mouth shut when i see things that are totally ridiculous. SO...religion is a very touchy subject as many may know, BUT im all about controversy so im here to give my honest and whole-hearted opinion on things. TOO many people try to impose their religious beliefs on others who dont necessarily live by the same morals and principles as them. Those "religious" people even look down on the "non-believers". But why?

Back during the time of elections, there was a discussion in the barbershop on Proposition 8. The people in the shop call themselves religious so they were all for Prop 8, which prohibits same sex marriage in California. So i asked them the question "what makes you vote yes on 8?". They replied it was because the BIBLE said that a man is to be with a woman, which is all fine and dandy, thats the way it's supposed to be for the purposes of pro-creation. HOWEVER, i would never try to take away the right to marriage of another, even if i dont 100% agree with their way of living. So then i said "Well doesn't the bible also say Thou Shall Not Judge?" The debate had officially begun. It was me and my brother, against about 7 or 8 other people. Based on the numbers, needless to say, the odds were against us. After i made the 'Thall Shou Not Judge' comment, everybody had the look on their faces like "yea..but..". But nothin. And shortly afterwards, my brother brought up the fact that not too long ago, WE (African Americans) weren't even allowed to marry someone of caucasian descent. Once again came the "yea..but..."

The point im tryna make is that people want to pick and choose parts of the bible that they wanna live by, and only when it's convenient for THEM. The bible also says you're not supposed to have sex until marriage. How many of us have broken that "rule". There are also parts of the bible that mention slavery, however, that goes unnoticed. I always hear people say things like "If you don't accept Jesus Christ as your lord and savior, then you'll burn in hell." But according to statistics, there are only about 2.1 billion christians in the world, what about the other 3.9 billion people across the globe? Are they all gonna burn as well? Islam also says that if you dont conform, then you'll go to hell. And many other religions as well.

To be very very honest, i believe that the church SYSTEM was created for control purposes initially. Not to mention its big business. All the money that the church receives is untaxed dollars. Pastors and preachers drive around in Benzes and BMWs, paid for by their followers, some who are barely able to keep their bills payed on time, but they tithe only because they believe that by doing so, they'll receive a special blessing from God. That makes no sense to me. NOBODY should be making a living off of preaching the word of God, am i right or am i wrong?

Another question i asked that day in the barbershop was "Why are you even a Christian?" The reply was, "because that's how i was raised.." So you SO STRONGLY believe in a system, simply because thats how you were raised? That sounds kinda sheepish to me. What happened to believing in things because thats what YOU TRULY BELIEVE IN? Alotta Christians LOVE to say "The bible says this, or the bible says that", but let's really break it down. At the end of the day, the bible is only a book, a story. One that has been written and rewritten many many MANY times, and under the control of power-hungry kings and other hierarchy of that time. How can i solely live my life according to a book that im not sure of its origin?

Even as a kid, i was always the kid that asked the question "why?" I believe it's helped shape the person i am today. I can't believe in something based on the fact that its what im SUPPOSED to believe, or because it was how i was RAISED. Im an individual, and the beliefs that i live by are my own. Im not knockin any religion, but i AM knockin people who impose their beliefs on others and treat people who have different beliefs like less-thans. I believe in one God, be it man woman or simply energy. I believe in the basic principles of being a good person, such as helping those in need, treating people with respect, loving one another, etc. So if you think the way i live is wrong, fine. Call me a sinner, atheist, stupid, ignorant or whatever. But i will NEVER let anybody take away my birth right of free will and i will ALWAYS live my life doing the right thing. Besides, i think there is a good lesson in ALL religion, and something can be learned from every single one. One God, one peace, one love...

CLASSIC: Push Ups

One of my favorite things to snack on as a kid. Whenever my mom used to be headed out the door on her way to the grocery store, i would yell out "AAAY MAAAA!!! GET US SOME PUSHUPS!!!" Then she would yell back "WHAAT KIIIND?!" and i'd be like "THE ORRAANGE ONES!!" LMAO!! I havent eaten one of these in years..

CLASSIC: Cousin Skeeter

Song of the Day: Dr.Dre - "Let Me Ride"

Man, i love this song...'nuff said.

Erykah Badu - "Next Lifetime"

This song just seems appropriate due to my last post lol...one of my all-time favorite songs. Erykah Badu is one of those people that i just yearn to have an intelligent conversation with, i think i'd get alot out of it

The Paths of Life..

Have you ever just sat and thought about the paths of life? It really trips me out when i think about it...and i think about it ALOT. Life is a journey, and everyone's journey is one of their own. About 6 billion or so different journeys goin on at once, some inter-mingling, some not...some of the smallest little events can send your life on a totally different path without you ever even stopping to give it any thought. SOMETHING SO VERY VERY SMALL!!!!! For example, if you hear a certain song right now at this very moment, that song will trigger a thought, and that same thought will indeed trigger another and another and another. Then a collection of those thoughts will lead to an action. An action that would never have taken place if it weren't for that thought, and that action will lead to another, and another. Now, those actions have created more thoughts, which in turn, inevitably, create more action. You followin me? Good. Think about this...its about to get complex...

You can decide to step out somewhere today, i dont know, lets use Barnes & Noble bookstore as an example. You can potentially meet the woman/man of your dreams and BOOM, the path that you were on prior to stumbling upon that person has totally shifted. And this is how...a short while after the two of you date, you engage in a committed relationship. Thus, shifting your state of existence because you now develop different thoughts than ones you may have developed had you not had this person in your life. Different thoughts lead to different things, places, people, etc. Along with those things, come different opportunity. Your mindset is a total new one due to these changes in your life. That new mindset produces fresh new ideas, and one of those ideas have caused you to want to venture into a certain field of study, let's use the medical field as an example. Years later, you now thrive as a successful MD and on that path to becoming such, you've formed many relationships with different people, and have endured different things, ALL THE WHILE developing new thought (thought is on-going and never-ending) which constantly shifts your path of life. Years and years later, you enjoy the abundant lifestyle of having a career in the medical field, your family is great, and you now have an 18 year old kid ready to follow in his or her mom/dads footsteps of success...But let's trace everything back to its origin. A certain SMALL something led to your desire to go to Barne's & Noble, which led you to meet your mate, which caused a shift in lifestyle, which ultimately led to your abundant lifestyle of happiness and healthiness. All because of a Nas lyric that said "Written in school textbooks, bibles et cetera, Fuck a school lecture..." That rhyme somehow caused you to think, which somehow influenced you to go to a bookstore, and well..the rest is history. The paths of life...crazy ain't it?
